Over time, I have heard so many things about Paper Planes Cafe in Parramatta and I really wanted to see what all the hype was about so having been on holidays, my friends and i decided to go on an adventure and try out this cafe. in a way I didn't know what to expect but have seen photos of food they serve and it kind of reminded me of Circa Espresso also located in Parramatta.
Having looked at directions from Westfields Parramatta, it told us that it was going to be an 8 minute walk but having all four of us hopeless at using maps... it turned into a 15 minute walk and by the time we got to the cafe, we realised we walked in one massive circle... it was funny but we were really keen for a good meal... haha As soon as we arrived the friendly staff that gave us menus and table water greeted us, it was a cute little cafe, which gave off a chilled out and relaxed vibe. Tossing and turning of what to get, my friends and I came to the decision of Bacon and Avo Benny (eggs benedict w/bacon and avocado), Truffle Eggs and 2 Red, White an Blue burger. The food came out relatively quickly and if anything it was actually kind of a good thing as we were sitting outside hungry and in the cold wind as there was no room inside. it looked super scrumptious and like I said earlier it definitely gave off a similar vibe to Circa Espresso which I did a blogpost on so be sure to check that one out on this same 'discoveries' page. RATINGS OUT OF 10 Location: 6. Located in Horwood Place, Parramatta, Paper Planes was quite difficult to find and was on a quieter street away from where the hustle and bustle is of Parramatta Service: 8. It was pretty average service Food: 7. There wasn't anything particularly special about Paper Planes but it did have a wide variety on their menu with affordable prices. Overall, Paper Planes Cafe is a good home style cafe with good home style cooking for an affordable price and is definitely worth checking out! Phoebe xx

Before heading to have a shopping day for an event I am designing later this year, my cousin, his fiancé (TheFoodieHitList), his fiancé’s sister and myself went on a little food adventure to Espresso Warriors at Stocklands Wetherill Park. I didn’t really know what to expect but I have always wanted to try it as I have walked past it so many times shopping so luckily, today was the day!! Walking around the back of the little kiosk there was a wide range of seating arrangements and we were immediately greeted with friendly staff alongside menus and their specials. After a glance at the menu, I knew that this was a go-to café that I would fall in love with. They had a wide range of home-style meals as well as a wide range of drinks and fresh juices, which lets be real…. I wanted to have all of them… but had to go with the ‘sunrise’ as it contained watermelon, apple and mint! Drinks aside it was now to choose a meal which was hard but at the same time easy as one dish stood out for me which was the Haloumi Stack. Consisting of zucchini and corn fritters with slices of haloumi and relish topped off with avocado, roquette and tomatoes it sounded to die for and sure enough when it came out it looked to die for! That saying ‘you eat with your eyes’ really came in handy, as the presentation was so different yet classy and just gave the impression that this was going to be an amazing meal. First bite and I honestly fell in love! It was ever so slightly salty from the grilled haloumi but balanced with the sweet corn and zucchini in the fritters and topped off with the freshness of the avocado, roquette and tomatoes. Portion size was more than enough for me but I couldn’t stop eating, as it tasted so good! The dishes everyone else ordered equally looked amazing and I think after that very satisfying meal, we were all very eager to get what we needed to do done. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend Espresso Warriors for affordable yet tasty café style food and I will undoubtedly be going back soon! RATINGS OUT OF 10 Location: 9 – it is located in stage one of Stocklands Wetherill Park and is in the middle of a few stores but is on one side of the complex itself. Service: 9.5 – service was enough in saying that they weren’t in your face and gave you the privacy of having a conversation and enjoying your meal. Food: 10 – food was high quality and for an affordable price and everything just looked so delicious and satisfying when it was presented to us and tasted equally amazing. Overall this discovery was amazing and the food is definitely worth trying! Exciting news! After months of contemplating, I decided I am going to blog the event I have been asked to design for later this year! It is towards the end of the year but you will find out about, everything leading up to it, the actual day of the event and more so definitely stay tuned!! Might throw in some sneak peeks on my instagram and facebook page so be sure to head over and give it a follow! On the last weekend of the winter school holidays, my best friend Jess and I originally planned to take on an adventure to Surry Hills but when things didn’t go to plan, we did some research and looked at good rustic café that was still local and close enough for us to get to. So we found Circa Espresso, which was located in Parramatta.
I have heard so many reviews of this place and honestly have always wanted to try it and the popularity was clear when we arrived! There was a crowd lining up waiting for a seat so when we went to put our name down the waitress told us there was a 20 minute wait. Jess and I didn’t really have any other options on where to eat so we made the decision to wait that 20 minutes so in the mean time, we walked around Westfield’s to kill time then about 15 minutes later we walked back to Circa Espresso and literally seconds later out name was called so we arrived just on time!! Circa has a layout similar to Ristretto and Co. and Jess and I were placed on the first table as we walked in. Very cute and cozy interiors made us feel comfortable and welcomed from the get go which was a huge plus! After a while looking at the menu and tossing between several options, Jess and I came to the decision of getting their Avocado Smash and Ottoman eggs. Once our order was placed, about 10 minutes later our food came and I’m not gonna lie, when I first saw the meals I wasn’t sure whether I was going to like it as it just seemed so different, but after we started digging in yes it was different to anything we have had before but it was very satisfying and delicious in every aspect. I have decided to start doing ratings of the ‘discoveries’ I find so I hope you guys enjoy! RATINGS OUT OF 10 Location: 8. It was only just out of Westfield but was on a fairly quiet street Service: 9.5. The service was exceptional no matter how busy it was Food: 8.5. The food was very different to every other rustic style café but I surprisingly enjoyed it. Overall I highly recommend Circa Espresso if you are really into the whole rustic vibe and good food for an affordable price so I hope you guys go check it out! Phoebe xx So there has been this craze over Ristretto and Co. lately and it seems like everyone I talk to has been here and has said it is amazing and that I should try it. Well today was the day!
Not gonna lie I had a very brief idea of what they serve and what to expect but despite the fact that I knew these things I was still amazed and in awe on how the restaurant was set out. I went with a friend of mine (which you should totally follow her on instagram @leeannetran) and honestly we both knew this was a place we would love! As we walked in we were immediately welcomed by staff members and the entire place just gave off a very cosy and comforting feeling. We were seated on a large table which ended up being shared with other people but despite the fact that there wasn’t a wide range of foods, they made the dishes Leeanne and I ordered to perfection and we all know if that something is done well, people are going to go back for it. Leeanne ordered Uovo in Pomodoro and I went for the Eggs Benedict. When our meals came out off course my first instinct was to take photos but felt a little intimidated to do so seeing as the place was really busy but because we were on a shared table with two middle aged men but surprisingly when I took out my camera they commented saying that we were food bloggers and even though Leeanne isn’t one… her instagram sure seems like it so I replied saying yes. We had a short conversation about blogging and instagram and hashtags with them and the waiter that served us so from then Leeanne and I felt so much more confident and just went for it! After about 5 minutes we managed to take a few snaps that we were happy with and then we just kind of demolished the food because it was so so good! Ristretto and Co. gives a very similar vibe to Grano so if you like Grano I highly recommend trying out Ristretto and Co. in Liverpool (158 Northumberland Street) and if you like Ristretto and Co. and haven’t tried Grano… you should check them out too (1009 Canley Vale Road, Wetherill Park) Phoebe xx So today several cousins and myself went to celebrate another cousins 5th birthday and it started off going to the cinemas to watch Shaun the Sheep The Movie (it was really more for the little kids). After we finished watching the movie we went to sushi train at a place called Hero Sushi just around the corner of the cinema. This is located in Stocklands Wetherill Park opposite the cinema and next to Yoghurtland and is apart of the new section. I honestly didn’t know what to expect walking into here but the restaurant looked classy with a modern twist. There were heaps of space seating wise and there were several 4 seat tables. Hero Sushi has an extremely wide range of meals and I was honestly in shock on the amount of meals they had but other sushi places didn’t. Prices are reasonable and personally I think it is worth it for the amount you get. Every meal was delicate and delicious in its own way. I had a bit more than this but the lighting wasn't the best in this place so I struggled to take more photos but hopefully you guys go and try Hero Sushi and will see what I mean when I say that the food is amazing. Simply the aftermath We finished the meal with a gelato and it just topped off our entire meal! After our meal we went to one of the regional parks in the local area to cut the cake and simply hang out with family! Phoebe xx On the 19th April 2015, I attended the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia Weekend Edition at Carriageworks with a fellow Fashion and Lifestyle blogger Theresa (aka Theresatrends) and it was honestly one of the most amazing days and was the perfect way to spend the last few days of the school holidays.
This won't be an ordinary blog post and this is because literally a day before this event I reached out to Theresa asking if she wanted to make this a collab for our blogs and she said yes so this is my first collaboration blog post and I hope you all enjoy it! After the show, Theresa and I were hungry so we decided to walk the streets of Eveleigh and seeing as it was a Sunday, most cafes were closed so it was a little harder to find one that caught our eye but after about a 10 minute walk we found a cute little corner café called Bobby’s Café. This café gave off a really rustic vibe, which we both loved so offcourse we had to give it a try! They had a wide range of different meal and drinks on their menu, which were very affordable. Theresa ordered Eggs Benedict accompanied with a Cappuccino and I ordered Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato and Mayo sandwich accompanied with an Iced Coffee! Both meals were really filling and super delicious! As soon as we finished we sat around and had a much needed catch-up. It was also to rest our feet because heels and a long walk don’t mix.. haha but after about an hour we walked back to Carriageworks and hung around taking photos for Theresa’s blog. It was overall such an amazing experience and this definitely won't be the only fashion show I attend! If you are interested in the other half of the events that occurred which is the Fashion side of this day and what the fashion show was like then head over to Theresa's blog to read about it on her Adventures Page! Also check out our Instagram pages. Theresa's Blog: http://theresatrends.weebly.com Theresa's Instagram: @Theresatrends My Instagram: @IndustryPhoebs Phoebe xx So my girlfriends and I were due for a much needed catch-up therefore we went this weekend and we decided to go for dinner at Thai Rock in Stocklands, Wetherill Park. Thai Rock is located in Kinchin Lane behind the shopping center itself underneath the cinema. There were little cafes along here but Thai Rock caught our eye and seeing as we have been here before we knew we would like it.
The girls and I were seated outside and it was such a friendly environment with everyone walking past and being interested in what we were having. We ordered a main meal which was a stone grill and if you don’t know what a stone grill is it is basically a slab of stone which is heated up and they place a piece of beef or seafood onto it and you can cook it to your own preference. This comes with a side of chips, veggies/salad and sauce. This is one of my favorite way to eat steak which was another reason why we came here… haha After main we were all tossing and turning whether we should get dessert or not seeing as we were really full. We came to the agreement that we would get dessert… but instead of having one dessert each we would order 2 we like and share it between the three of us. We chose the fried ice-cream and sticky date pudding. Both amazing desserts and definitely kept us happy throughout the rest of the night. If you don’t know what Fried Ice-cream is, it is ice-cream that is wrapped in pastry and then deep fried quickly to crisp up the outside. Personally one of my favorite desserts to have whenever I have the chance to. Sticky Date pudding was served with a warm caramel sauce and vanilla ice-cream which helped balance out the sweetness of this decadent dessert. If you feel like steak but enjoy cooking it yourself I highly recommend Thai Rock. They have a wide range of food options whether its Asian cuisine or stonegrill. Their menu is affordable and is worth it with what you get. Phoebe xx In Parramatta, there are heaps of different cafes and restaurants that I was eager to try but one of my favourites along that strip is a Malaysian restaurant called PappaRich. Today was my second time eating at this place but I brought along three friends.
The menu has a wide range of different starters, main meals, desserts and drinks so it was extremely difficult for all four of us to choose just one dish each. I ended up having Roti with a chicken curry and my friends had noodles but all cooked to their preference. We all ended up ordering the same drink which would by far be one of the best concoctions I have had . Prices were affordable and is definitely worth their price. Highly recommend checking it out whenever you are in the area! Terima Kasih (Thankyou) Phoebe xx |
